Scramble's Kano Gi evokes jiujitsu's roots in judo. The name is inspired by Kanō Jigorō, the founder of judo. His way of thinking greatly affected martial arts, removing the so-called deadly techniques in favor of sports techniques, thus greatly improving the effectiveness of these techniques, allowing the fighter to become an athlete and train as hard as possible. His expert judo team defeated the previous generation of traditional jiujitsu athletes despite appearing to have limited technique. The key was that these "less lethal" techniques were honed to such an extent that they were much more effective than the lethal techniques of jiujitsu, which were difficult to practice properly.
