Functional training demands and promotes the interaction of muscle chains and loops. Muscles are not stressed in isolation, but movements relevant to sports and everyday life are trained. With a suitable selection of exercises, the training can be precisely tailored to the special requirements of your sport. Due to its high relevance for stabilization and the development of movement-specific condition, functional training is an important part of the training of competitive athletes. Since the intensity and scope of the training are not predetermined and can be easily controlled, functional training is also suitable for amateur athletes or to get you fit for everyday life.
This DVD presents numerous training devices that are used in functional athletics training and train speed, strength, endurance or coordination. The more than 100 exercises presented are classified in order to get a quick overview of the training goal. The exercises do not require a specific space, so the functional training can take place at home, in a gym or even outdoors.
The equipment is: coordination ladder (“speed ladder”), sling trainer, kettlebell, rope (“battle rope”), club, mmA dummy, medicine ball/slam ball, physioball. The authors, Justin Pusch and Andreas Knebl, are active competitive athletes (karate and ju-jutsu respectively) and also work professionally in sports. Thanks to their many years of training experience, education and great interest in athletic training, they bring a great deal of understanding and knowledge with them. This is expressed in the selection and variety of exercises.
